Schwan’s Company in Deer Park, TX is hiring a Refrigeration Supervisor to oversee maintenance of production machinery and ammonia refrigeration systems. The role requires senior level expertise with strong leadership to manage safety, compliance and emergency readiness.

The position emphasizes direct supervision of technical teams, coordination with external vendors, and adherence to PSM, OSHA, EPA, and USDA sanitation standards. Strong communication and shift flexibility are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years related experience; Ammonia refrigeration experience required.
• Knowledge of general construction, electrical, electronic, mechanical systems, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Working knowledge of food plant production and processing equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of PSM, OSHA safety regulations, EPA regulations, USDA and sanitation standards preferred.
• Must have previous supervisor experience.
• Basic PC skills including MS Office and Outlook.
• SAP experience is beneficial.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• May be required to be clean shaven if trained to use a respirator.
• Must be able to work any shift and be on 24-hour call for emergencies.

Responsabilités

• Direct the maintenance and preventive maintenance of all production machinery and building maintenance needs.
• Supervise technical maintenance activities, troubleshooting, and the repair of ammonia refrigeration equipment including vessels, evaporators, condensers, pumps, motors, compressors, valves, and other refrigeration equipment.
• Manage the food safety sanitation, quality, and security of the food products produced.
• Comply with the EPA's Risk Management Program Regulation of a hazardous Chemical facility (PSM, hazard analyses, emergency response, offsite plans).
• Coordinate external service agencies to schedule refrigeration repair work and ensure timely completion.
• Perform inspections and preventative maintenance as required by PSM schedules.
• Be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and examining refrigeration systems (both Ammonia and Freon).
• Perform daily chemical testing and logging all test results, making adjustments as required.
• Interface with state and federal government agencies as required.
• Confer with operators to diagnose cause of malfunctions.
• Disassemble machinery to remove parts and make repairs; ensure ammonia safety equipment is up to date.
• Comply with Safety Programs to protect employees and property.
• Supervise, train and develop subordinates.
• Ensure conduct aligns with CJ Schwan's mission, values, and policies.
• Ensure nightly use of PPE (caps, glasses, shields, masks, ear plugs, nets, gloves, boots).
