Job summary

GE Appliances, a Haier company, is seeking a Principal Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME) in Decatur, AL to lead capital equipment projects for high-volume manufacturing. You will coordinate procurement, installation, and qualification while aligning with plant productivity and cost-out goals.

You will champion lean principles, participate in DFMA and Manufacturing Control Plans, and mentor junior engineers to grow the AME organization’s capability. Domestic travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Experience leading capital equipment projects and cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and involvement in New Product Introduction (NPI) programs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate capital equipment procurement and installation, ensuring budget and schedule adherence.
• Apply lean manufacturing principles and DFMA during design and commissioning.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to Hoshin objectives across projects.
