Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a senior leader to manage the MedStar Surgery Center, overseeing the direction and coordination of all operations at a stand-alone ambulatory facility with 2+ ORs. Responsibilities include budgeting, credentialing, procurement, HR, accreditation, quality and safety, and patient satisfaction.

The role requires fiscal oversight, strategic planning, and cross-functional leadership to ensure efficient operations and exceptional patient experiences at MedStar Ambulatory

Qualifications

• Experience managing ambulatory surgery centers preferred.
• Knowledge of AAAHC/JCAHO accreditation and regulatory standards.
• Experience in budgeting and financial oversight.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops and deploys Surgery Center operating policies and procedures including scheduling.
• Responsible for clinical and administrative personnel management including recruitment and training.
• Responsible for fostering staff growth and development.
• Responsible for the financial performance of the Surgery Center; oversees budgets.
• Oversees information systems planning and maintenance for the Surgery Center.
• Coordinates third-party contracting efforts and participation.
• Implements and ensures adherence to Center policies after Board approval.
• Routinely reviews opportunities to expand procedures and volumes.
• Works with finance to assess financial impact of new services.
• Develops physician credentialing and quality oversight processes.
• Coordinates quality measurement and reporting activities with relevant departments.
• Identifies opportunities for business development and community engagement.
• Ensures regulatory compliance and ongoing accreditation readiness.
• Coordinates Board reporting and presents budgets for approval.
