Job summary

Michels Preconstruction Services, Inc. in Fairfax, VA, seeks an Alternative Delivery Manager- Heavy Civil Construction to lead complex, collaborative projects from early business development through design and contract management.

You will coordinate with Michels teams and external partners, leveraging strong leadership, client management, and scheduling skills to exceed client expectations. Travel may be required up to 50%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil engineering (or equivalent).
• 10+ years of construction management experience in heavy civil/construction.
• Experience with alternative delivery projects (design‑build, EPC).
• Travel could exceed 50% depending on assignment.
• Strong client management and project leadership experience.
• Knowledge of win strategies, pricing, and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and management for all phases of alternative/collaborative delivery projects.
• Lead design-build pursuits and project delivery.
• Build and sustain relationships with clients and subcontractors, on and off site.
• Travel up to 50% depending on assignment and project requirements.
