Job summary

Truist is seeking an experienced infrastructure engineer to design, build, and support AIX and IBM Power platforms. You will drive automation, performance tuning, and lifecycle management across enterprise-scale systems.

The role requires 5+ years of infrastructure engineering and deep knowledge of AIX, Power Systems, PowerVM, VIOS, HMC, and virtualization. Preference for candidates with experience in regulated financial services environments and strong collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of infrastructure engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise infra technologies including cloud, network, storage, and middleware.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and implements AIX and IBM Power infrastructure platforms and systems.
• Applies automation, monitoring, performance tuning, capacity planning, and optimization.
• Manages lifecycle management, upgrades, patching, deployments, and technology refreshes.
• Collaborates with cross‑functional teams to adopt new technologies and improve standards.
• Troubleshoots and resolves complex AIX/Power issues impacting availability and performance.
• Ensures compliance with security and governance requirements.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent education, training, and work‑related experience

5+ years of professional experience in infrastructure engineering

Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure technologies including cloud, network, database, storage, platform, computing, and middleware

Experience with infrastructure automation, scripting, configuration management
