Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a Senior AIX Platform Engineer to design, engineer, and automate enterprise AIX platform solutions on IBM Power Systems. You will lead modernization programs, establish standards, and collaborate with architecture, security, and operations to deliver scalable platform services.

Responsibilities include developing Ansible automation, IaC standards, and CI/CD integration, while ensuring security, compliance, and reliability across mission-critical applications.

Qualifications

• 10+ years designing IBM AIX environments.
• 10+ years with IBM Power Systems platforms.
• Expert-level knowledge of IBM AIX 7.x, PowerVM, LPAR, VIOS, HMC, NIM.
• 7+ years of hands-on Ansible development experience.
• Expert-level proficiency developing Ansible playbooks, roles, collections, modules, inventories, templates, and automation frameworks.
• Experience building enterprise-scale Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Ansible.
• Strong software engineering mindset with source control, testing, and CI/CD practices.
• Experience integrating Ansible with ServiceNow, GitHub/GitLab/Jenkins/Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
• Bachelor's degree + 8+ years or HS diploma + 12+ years in relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, and implement enterprise AIX platform solutions.
• Develop platform standards, reference architectures, and engineering best practices.
• Evaluate and implement IBM Power and AIX technologies.
• Lead platform modernization initiatives and lifecycle management.
• Engineer highly available, scalable, and resilient infrastructure.
• Partner with architecture teams on platform roadmaps.
• Design automation solutions and CI/CD integration for infrastructure provisioning and config management.
• Establish automation coding standards and governance.
