Infosys is seeking an Senior AIX Administrator. An AIX Administrator is responsible for the deployment, configuration, maintenance, and support of enterprise-level UNIX and Linux systems. This role ensures stability, security, and performance of AIX (IBM UNIX) and various Linux distributions in a mission-critical environment. Is also responsible for the prompt issue resolutions and superior customer experience.
Required skills:
• The client is based out of Wichita, KS. Candidate can work anywhere from USA. This position may require few travels per client needs.
• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
• At least 4 years of Information Technology experience.
• At least 4 years of AIX support experience.
• This role may involve elevated access to Impact Level 4 (IL4) data and/or security requirements for handling controlled unclassified information (CUI) and sensitive data as defined by US Department of Defense (DoD). The eligible candidates must be US Citizens.
Technical Expertise:
• Extensive hands-on experience with RHEL, AIX (IBM UNIX), and various Linux distributions including Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, and Debian.
• Proficient in scripting and automation using tools such as Bash, Python, Ansible, Puppet, and Chef.
• Skilled in using system monitoring tools and performing performance tuning to ensure optimal system operation.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to AIX and Linux servers, including system crashes, network problems, hardware failures, and application errors.
• Implement and enforce security best practices across AIX and Linux systems, including applying patches, configuring firewalls, and managing access controls in collaboration with the security team.
• Support system audits and ensure compliance with relevant security and regulatory standards.
• Automate routine administrative tasks such as backups, user provisioning, and server monitoring to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation for server configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Provide regular reports on system performance, security compliance, and infrastructure changes to management and stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional IT teams—including network, database, application, and security—to resolve infrastructure issues and implement system enhancements.
• Compliance: Comply with the ITIL process and meet the SLA requirements.
Preferred Skills:
• IBM Certified System Administrator – AIX or equivalent AIX certification.
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified
Engineer (RHCE).
• Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC-1, LPIC-2).
• ITIL Foundation certification or similar IT service management
certification.
• Strong communication and Analytical skills.
• Ability to work in team in diverse/ multiple stakeholder environment.
• Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment.
• Have good knowledge on Troubleshooting and providing speedy solution
• Planning and Co-ordination skills.
• Good Communication and Analytical skills.
Estimated annual compensation range for this role will be as follows:
In CA/ WA / NY / CO / MD / IL / MN/NJ : $73,000 to $102,200
In Washington, DC:$ 66500 to $100,300
