Job summary

Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority is seeking an Airport Planner Supervisor in the Planning Department of the Office of Engineering at Washington Dulles International Airport. You will guide master planning, advise executive leadership, and manage design and planning projects across multiple facilities and programs.

The role requires extensive experience in airport planning, strong supervisory skills, and the ability to coordinate with regulators, airlines, and partners to advance

Qualifications

• Eight years of progressively responsible experience in planning, pre-design, design, and construction, and project and program management as it relates to facilities.
• At least two years should be working directly for an airport or an airport authority.
• Comprehensive knowledge of airport facility planning and operations and ability to apply it to integrated designs.
• Knowledge of building, fire codes, accessibility regulations, and relevant laws.
• Knowledge of the National Environmental Policy Act and preservation considerations.
• Ability to coordinate with external stakeholders and regulators; effective communication with nontechnical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all facets of comprehensive master planning for physical development and redevelopment.
• Advise leadership on planning and programming requirements for aviation and non-aviation facilities.
• Serve as technical expert for terminal, gate, concourse, and facility planning and design.
• Develop Airport Master and Subarea Plans for multiple airports and related properties.
• Assist in developing pre-design data, CCP, COMIP, CIP, and R&R programs, including scope, schedule, and cost data.
