Job summary

Ardurra seeks an Aviation Planner Team Lead to guide airfield planning projects for commercial and general aviation clients in Seattle. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage scope, schedule and budget, ensure FAA compliance, and drive client relationships.

The role emphasizes airside and landside facility evaluation, runway/taxiway planning, and development of airport master plans and ALPs, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and regulatory alignment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field (Aviation Planning, Urban and Regional Planning, Civil Engineering, Airport Management)
  • 8+ years of relevant aviation planning experience including commercial airport planning and airfield development
  • 5+ years of project management or supervisory experience leading aviation planning teams
  • Experience preparing FAA-funded airport planning projects, airport master plans, ALPs, and airfield development studies
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage aviation planning teams in delivering airport planning projects
  • Serve as project manager and technical lead for master plans, ALPs, and CIP programs
  • Direct planning for runways, taxiways, aprons, terminals, and support facilities
  • Oversee airfield geometry analyses, capacity evaluations, and FAA design standard reviews
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, QA, and client communications
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including planners, engineers, environmental specialists, GIS professionals, and subconsultants
  • Develop and review technical reports, planning documents, presentations, and FAA coordination materials
  • Lead stakeholder engagement efforts including workshops and public meetings
  • Mentor junior planners and staff through technical guidance and development opportunities
  • Support business development activities and client relationship management
  • Monitor FAA policy updates and industry best practices to support innovative planning solutions
