Job summary

Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority seeks an Exterior Electrician Supervisor (IAD) to oversee the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of exterior electrical systems at Washington Dulles International Airport. You will supervise the Exterior Electrician Section and ensure compliance with FAA regulations and safety standards.

The role covers project planning, supervision of journeyman electricians, and coordination with the Electrical Division within the Airport Maintenance Department.

Qualifications

• Seven years of progressively responsible experience in maintenance and repair of electrical equipment and systems.
• Two of the seven years of experience must include installation, test, diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment and systems.
• Journeyman Electrician license and a valid state driver’s license are required.
• Ability to supervise and communicate effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Plans overall work schedules, special projects, and preventative maintenance functions.
• Reviews shift operation logs and determines follow-up needs.
• Reviews work for completeness, feasibility, and safety compliance with regulations.
• Supervises responses to trouble calls or troubleshooting unusual problems.
• Acts as a primary quality control inspector for all equipment serviced.
• Ensures work orders are accurately captured and closed promptly.
• Coordinates work with others to avoid schedule conflicts or delays.
• Maintains inventory, expenditures, and records in computer files.
• Acts as the contracting officer’s technical representative for electrical service and repair contracts.
• Conducts job interviews and participates in candidate selection; evaluates performance and training needs.
