Job summary

The City of Houston invites applications for a Senior Contract Administrator with the Houston Airport System – Maintenance/Contract Administration. You will review bids, manage contracts, and ensure compliance for services across IAH, HOU, and EFD airports.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, drafting scope of work, and coordinating with City departments to maintain efficient operations and cost control. A Public Administration degree plus 4 years’ experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Government, or closely related field.
• Four years of contract compliance experience are required; experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Reviews bids for conformity to contract requirements and determines acceptable bids.
• Supervises small staff involved in developing technical specifications.
• Ensures the timely award of contractual services.
• Develops elements in agreements to provide efficient and economical service alternatives.
• Monitors budgets; provides forecasts and cost analyses.
• Resolves contract disputes with vendors and customers; advises on compliance issues.
• Maintains contract records and coordinates with other City departments.
