Job summary

The City of Charlotte's Aviation Department seeks an experienced technician to perform journey level work on electrical and mechanical systems at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, focusing on automated baggage conveyors and loading bridges. You will provide lead direction and training to others while keeping facilities in good repair.

Responsibilities include extensive electrical troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, and coordination with parts inventory.

Qualifications

High School diploma (or GED equivalent).
Five years of related experience.
Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.

Responsibilities

Installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of electrical and mechanical systems with emphasis on automated baggage conveyors and passenger loading bridge systems.
Advanced Industrial electrical installation and troubleshooting across 277/480V 3-phase, 120/208 3-phase,110 VAC, and 24VDC.
Advanced troubleshooting of PLCs, motor controls, VFDs, networks, and HMIs.
Maintenance and repair of ground power units for aircraft docking at loading bridges.
General building maintenance and completing work orders; inventory tracking and parts ordering.
Operate vehicles and heavy equipment; work near aircraft and ground support equipment.
