Job summary

Airbus Americas on the Wichita State University innovation campus is seeking a senior design engineer to advance aircraft structural design and system installations. You will create high-quality solutions from a design perspective, collaborating with static stress and fatigue teams to deliver on-time results.

You will lead design efforts for metallic and non-metallic structures, guide less experienced designers, and prepare detailed technical materials for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering with emphasis on structural design and materials.
• Nine+ years in design and analysis with airframe structures or system installation.
• Authorized to work in the US.
• Strong technical design knowledge and documentation practices.
• Ability to lead small design teams and deliver milestones.

Responsibilities

• Perform design and analysis for metallic and non-metallic structures and integrations.
• Develop complex technical documents and design datasets in CATIA/SAP environments.
• Lead and mentor junior designers and engineers on projects.
• Prepare and present technical material and status reports to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Static Stress, F&D, and other Airbus departments to optimize designs.
• Support customers and internal teams to meet deadlines and quality goals.
