Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer to lead reliability engineering for aircraft systems, managing budgets and performing FMECA/FTAs. You will collaborate across engineering disciplines, analyze data, and drive design improvements to increase availability and mission success.

The role requires extensive aerospace reliability experience, strong analytical and writing skills, and the ability to communicate risks to leadership and customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in reliability engineering, systems engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related field.
  • Typically seven or more years of reliability, systems, or aerospace engineering experience.
  • Direct experience supporting aircraft development, integration, testing, sustainment, or operations.
  • Proficiency with reliability methods (FMEA/FMECA, FTA, RBD, Weibull) and FRACAS.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance for the program.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain aircraft-level reliability requirements, objectives, and plans.
  • Allocate and manage reliability budgets across systems and units.
  • Track reliability against targets and identify drivers of risk.
  • Perform reliability predictions using data and mission profiles.
  • Lead or support FRACAS activities and reliability analyses.
