Shield AI is seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer to lead reliability activities for aircraft systems. You will establish reliability requirements, manage budgets, and perform analyses to identify design improvements that increase availability and mission success.

You will collaborate across disciplines, communicate with leadership and customers, and mentor junior engineers. Requires 5+ years in reliability engineering for aircraft or aerospace systems, proficiency with ReliaSoft and FRACAS,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in reliability engineering, systems engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related field.
• Typically 5+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
• Direct experience supporting aircraft development, integration, testing, sustainment, or operations.
• Proficiency with reliability methods such as FMEA/FMECA, FTA, RBD, Weibull analysis, FRACAS.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain aircraft-level reliability requirements, objectives, and program reliability plans.
• Allocate and manage reliability budgets across systems, subsystems, and line-replaceable units.
• Track predicted reliability against targets and identify drivers of risk.
• Perform reliability predictions using data, environments, and mission profiles.
• Conduct FMEA, FMECA, FTA, and RBD analyses.
• Provide reliability data for safety assessments.
• Develop MTBF, MTBCF, availability, and related metrics.
• Lead or support FRACAS activities.
• Analyze test and field data to identify trends.
• Apply Weibull analysis to evaluate failure behavior.
• Work with design teams to eliminate single-point failures.
• Review supplier reliability analyses and test results.
• Define reliability demonstration and growth-test requirements.
• Support SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and reliability boards.
• Communicate performance, risks, and corrective actions to leadership.
