Job summary

V2X in Maryland seeks an Aircraft Mechanic to troubleshoot and repair aircraft structures, engines, hydraulics, and flight systems, ensuring safe operation and airworthiness. You will inspect, replace worn components, remove/install engines, and perform required inspections from preflight to postflight.

Qualifications include a High School degree, specialized courses in aircraft structural repair, and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Level security clearance.
  • High School degree or equivalent required.
  • Completion of specialized courses in aircraft structural repair is required.
  • Two to Four years actual and recent experience in repair, modification, maintenance, and overhaul of relevant aircraft. Four years preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts.
  • Broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical theory.
  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft tools such as test equipment and measuring devices.
  • Knowledge of technical publications (NAMP/NALCOMIS).
  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet schedules.
  • Knowledge of corrosion control techniques and hazardous waste handling.
  • Knowledge of aircraft subsystems, operations, and technical orders.
  • Valid US state driver's license.
  • Ability to read and interpret data.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to obtain government flight line driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and repairs aircraft components including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical parts.
  • Replace or repair worn components such as carburetors, alternators, magnetos, and engine parts; remove and install engines using hoist or forklift.
  • Perform electrical wiring adjustments and preflight through post-flight inspections.
  • Apply technical knowledge to diagnose equipment malfunctions.
  • Supervise jacking and towing of aircraft and verify work.
  • Record entries in aircraft logs and maintain schedules.
