Gulfstream Aerospace seeks a senior Aircraft Materials & Processes Engineer to provide advanced expertise in metallic materials, chemical processing, coatings, and metal forming for Gulfstream’s production aircraft.

The role combines technical authority with engineering judgment, guiding supplier coordination and internal teams while balancing product, cost, and schedule considerations. Onsite in Savannah, GA, with opportunities to influence standards and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical discipline applicable to the role.
• 10+ years in a specific technical discipline or 15+ years across multiple disciplines with a bachelor’s degree.
• Background in aerospace manufacturing or related field, specializing in chemical processes and metal forming/fabrication.
• Extensive experience with aerospace metallic material systems.
• Experience with chemical processes for metallic structures (pretreatments, coatings).
• Experience with forming and fabrication methods (press, roll, stretch forming).
• Ability to coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers to support objectives.
• Ability to support continuous improvement in manufacturing and assembly of metallic structures.
• Proficient reading/writing/speaking English.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical authority for aerospace metallic materials, chemical processes, and forming/fabrication.
• Select methods and evaluation criteria to resolve complex issues.
• Support chemical processes for metallic aircraft structures.
• Evaluate forming and fabrication methods (press, roll, stretch).
• Coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers to resolve issues and support objectives.
• Develop test plans and revise Materials & Processes docs and standards.
• Evaluate 3D designs for Materials & Processes requirements and supplier specs.
• Manage projects from planning to closure, identifying process improvements.
