Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Senior Principal Airborne Systems Operator to join the Test and Evaluation team onsite in Patuxent River, MD. You will conduct air vehicle and mission system ground and flight tests as aircrew, support development programs, and lead test planning, coordination, and briefings with engineers and Navy aircrew.

Candidates need a STEM degree with 8+ years (BS) or 6 years (MS) or 4 years (PhD), active Top Secret clearance, flight test

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline with 8+ years of related experience or Master’s with 6+ years or Ph.D. with 4+ years.
• Active US Government Top Secret clearance.
• Ability to obtain/sustain SAP clearance.
• FAA Class II physical or Military Flying Class as a condition of employment.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct E-2D Mission System and Air Vehicle ground and flight tests as aircrew.
• Lead test plan development, procedures, and NATOPS updates.
• Brief aircrew and engineers on new hardware/software capabilities.
• Coordinate test activities and mentor junior aircrew and Flight Test Engineers.
• Prepare and review Discrepancy Reports and post-flight summaries.
