Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Test & Evaluation Engineering Manager 2 at NAS Patuxent River, MD. You will lead flight and ground test activities, direct engineers, and ensure rigorous T&E execution across programs with Navy collaboration.

The role requires a Top Secret clearance, extensive test-conductor experience, and a strong STEM background. Travel up to 10% is expected in a dynamic, high-performance environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics with 9 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree with 7 years; OR a PhD with 5 years.
• Active U.S. government Top Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 5 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
• Experience with Ground and Flight Testing; Test Conductor/Test Director experience leading a team during test events.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Top Secret/SCI clearance.
• Navy flight test experience or related coordination with Navy personnel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the execution of ground and flight test events, managing test directors and engineers.
• Collaborate with Navy counterparts to conduct test events and coordinate efforts with Navy test personnel.
• Provide T&E process guidance throughout all phases of test.
• Develop test plans and test cards; estimate program execution scope.
• Brief planning and execution status at internal and external meetings; ensure information flows to all team members.
• Identify and manage risks and opportunities; review change requests and impacts.
• Lead the Section Manager function with 8–10 direct reports and coordinate with the AISRT Flight and Ground Ops Department Manager.
