Job summary

Tetra Tech AMT seeks an Air Traffic Control Specialist to support FAA IFP design and airspace optimization in high‑impact projects. You will operate TARGETS and related tools, analyze data, and produce briefing materials for stakeholders.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and a minimum of 15 years as a Certified Professional Controller, with strong CAD/automation tool experience, excellent communication, and project management skills; travel up to 30% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• A minimum of 15 years of experience as a Certified Professional Controller (CPC).
• Experience within the last three years with complex automation tools, CAD software, or similar applications.
• Practical experience doing technical work related to air traffic control or airspace design.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and facilitation/project management abilities.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Acrobat, and similar office software.
• Knowledge of and experience with airspace or procedures design and TARGETS software.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to FAA offices responsible for instrument flight procedure (IFP) design.
• Provide technical assistance related to optimization of airspace and procedure design in IFP projects.
• Operate TARGETS software and provide recommendations to FAA on issues or enhancements.
• Retrieve and analyze IFP and air traffic data from IOAA and radar data tools.
• Provide expertise to FAA regarding IFP design risks and alternatives.
• Review FAA orders and directives pertaining to IFP criteria and procedures.
• Produce presentation and briefing material related to IFP development and flight paths.
• Supervise graphics staff and provide technical assistance as needed.
• Review work for accuracy and compliance with criteria.
• Coordinate with IFP workgroup stakeholders and participate in user evaluation teams.
