Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Air Quality Project Manager to lead air permitting and compliance for power, industrial, commercial, and transportation sectors. The role is within our Environmental Services Global Practice, with opportunities for advancement in a dynamic practice.

You will prepare permit packages, conduct site assessments to ensure compliance, and estimate emissions. You will work with clients to manage projects, budgets, and timelines, and support documentation for SPCC, EPCRA,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field and minimum 7 years of applicable experience (10 years preferred).
• Master's degree may substitute for 1 year of experience.
• Previous consulting experience in air permitting/compliance and related audits is preferred.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local air regulations with emphasis on the Clean Air Act including NRS/PSD, NESHAP, NSPS, Title V/VI.
• Familiarity with air quality dispersion models (AERMOD/AERSCREEN/CALPUFF/VISCREEN/PLUVUE/SLAB) is a plus.
• Sustainability background is a plus; strong written and verbal communication; proficiency in MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Prepare air permit application packages and supporting documentation.
• Conduct environmental site assessments to ensure compliance with air quality requirements.
• Estimate routine emissions, GHGs, maintenance, startup and shutdown emissions.
• Manage projects, budgets and timelines with clients and team members.
• Assist with multimedia questions and documentation (SWPPPs, SPCC, EPCRA).
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and company standards.
