Eastern Research Group, Inc. (ERG) is seeking a senior professional with strong Clean Air Act expertise to lead air dispersion modeling, permitting, and regulatory analysis for federal and state clients in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes modeling with AERMOD/AERSCREEN and preparing Title V, PSD, and minor source permits, while mentoring staff and coordinating with clients. Arlington, VA-based position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical/Chemical/Environmental) required.
• Solid knowledge of Clean Air Act laws and permitting.
• Minimum of five years in air dispersion modeling and permitting work.
• Proficiency with AERMOD/AERSCREEN/AERMET/AERSURFACE; familiarity with EPA guidance.
• Experience with VISCREEN and CALPUFF is preferred.
• Strong writing, communication, and stakeholder presentation abilities.
• Excellent time management and ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform, review, and evaluate air dispersion modeling analyses using AERSCREEN and AERMOD.
• Draft Clean Air permits: minor source, Title V, PSD, and major nonattainment.
• Ensure permits comply with SIP rules, EPA regs, and applicable statutes.
• Review draft regulations and state rules for conformity and impact determinations.
• Develop control technology determinations (BACT/LAER) and related analyses.
• Mentor junior staff and manage multiple projects or small teams.
• Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders; prepare thorough technical reports.
