Job summary

ERG seeks a highly qualified engineer with a strong background in Clean Air Act statutes, regulations, and policy, particularly permitting and enforcement. The role focuses on air dispersion modeling using AERMOD/AERSCREEN and drafting related permits for diverse clients.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of experience, a degree in Engineering, and proven ability to mentor staff, manage multiple projects, and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental).
• At least five years experience with air dispersion modeling and permitting under Clean Air Act.
• Strong proficiency with AERMOD, AERSCREEN, AERMET, AERSURFACE and EPA guidelines.
• Excellent writing and communication skills; ability to present findings to diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word; ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform, review, and evaluate air dispersion modeling analyses using tools such as AERSCREEN and AERMOD.
• Draft Clean Air permits, including minor source, Title V, PSD, and major nonattainment permits.
• Review proposed permits for conformity with regulations and policy.
• Draft and review control technology determinations (BACT/LAER).
• Mentor junior staff and manage multiple projects with clients and stakeholders.
• Prepare clear, thorough technical documents and reports.
