Job summary

Credit Acceptance seeks a Senior Product Manager for AI/ML to own end-to-end product outcomes, from framing problems to launch and ongoing optimization, shaping the roadmap with engineering and data science partners.

This role requires 8+ years in technical product management, strong AI/ML knowledge, Python/SQL, and the ability to influence senior leadership. Hybrid work in SF Bay Area with relocation options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, Business, Data Science, AI, Data Analytics or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in technical product management or data/AI product roles.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and system design.
• Ability to own product outcomes end to end.
• Proficiency with Python, SQL, and engaging with technical teams.
• Knowledge of AI features including RAG, multi-agent systems, LLM apps.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives without formal people management.
• Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills.
• Ability to operate with autonomy and ambiguity.
• Must reside in or relocate to SF Bay Area, CA; Southfield, MI; or Bellevue, WA.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the single point of contact to the business for assigned AI/ML domains; understand business needs, identify AI/ML opportunities, and define solution direction.
• Lead discovery: frame the business problem, size the opportunity, and validate the need and feasibility before committing to a solution.
• Own the product roadmap and its prioritization, making and demonstrating value in what the organization should and should not pursue.
• Define success in measurable terms, the KPIs and the vision and roadmap per product.
• Translate framed problems into clear solution direction, technical specifications, and delivery plans with AI/ML Engineering and Science teams.
• Own the build-versus-buy recommendation for assigned solutions, with a defensible rationale; lead vendor evaluation and POC scoping.
• Own the solution lifecycle from problem framing through delivery, adoption, and continuous improvement.
• Continually analyze operational signals from AI Operations and translate them into roadmap decisions.
• Establish, monitor, and analyze KPIs to evaluate effectiveness and drive improvement.
• Act as a trusted advisor to business and technology leadership, protecting the roadmap.
