Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Senior UX Product Designer to shape the next generation of AI-powered experiences across our product ecosystem. You will operate at the intersection of user experience, product strategy, and applied AI, translating complex model capabilities into intuitive, trustworthy workflows.

You will lead end-to-end design for AI features, prototype with real models, and collaborate with data science, research, and engineering to ensure user needs guide system behaviors.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional product design experience with end-to-end ownership of complex workflows.
• Experience designing with AI or LLM technologies, including prompt design and evaluating model output quality.
• Strong interaction design skills to simplify AI behaviors into user-centered experiences.
• Familiarity with model behaviors and limitations (hallucinations, confidence, deterministic vs. probabilistic output).
• Ability to prototype using tools like Figma, Python notebooks, model sandboxes, or no-code AI orchestration tools.
• Hands-on experience planning and executing end-to-end user research and translating findings into roadmap decisions.
• Deep systems-thinking across UI, data inputs, model constraints, and workflows.
• Experience collaborating with product management, data science, UX research, accessibility, and engineering.
• Strong communication and storytelling to influence decisions and justify design choices.
• Commitment to responsible AI principles, including transparency and fairness.
• Growth mindset and comfort navigating ambiguity in AI-driven products.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end design of AI-powered features and agentic workflows.
• Translate model behaviors and data inputs into coherent UX patterns.
• Prototype with real AI/LLM models to evaluate prompts and improve responses.
• Design collaboration patterns between users and AI, defining autonomy and handoffs.
• Create interaction flows with transparency moments, guardrails, and recovery states.
• Partner with data science and engineering to align system behaviors with user needs.
• Collaborate with UX Research for usability testing and validation studies.
• Use qualitative and quantitative data to run evaluative studies on AI features.
• Contribute to internal design standards for AI patterns and guidelines.
• Collaborate with product and research teams to identify AI opportunities.
• Communicate decisions clearly to senior stakeholders.
• Leverage AI tooling and content standards to deliver brand-aligned experiences.
• Design accessible solutions with WCAG 2.1 AA compliance.
