Job summary

Roku, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer to design and implement AI-powered tools and platforms, guiding AI tooling and pipelines across the engineering organization.

You’ll own epics, mentor teammates, and collaborate with architects, product, data, and QA to deliver core OS features and high-impact platform improvements. You’ll work on secure, scalable solutions using Python-based services, Linux, and cloud-native stacks, while optimizing performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• 2 years of software engineering experience.
• Build and integrate AI tooling using Agents and model contexts.
• Develop and evaluate prompts and systems with grounding, citation, and A/B testing.
• Design and deliver user interfaces with clarity and minimal friction.
• Optimize latency, throughput, and async I/O across AI workloads.
• System design, architecture tradeoffs, and code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure AI-powered tools and platforms integrated into engineering workflows.
• Architect AI tooling pipelines with LLMs, RAG, MCP, and data validation standards.
• Own epics and drive timely delivery of software solutions within the team domain.
• Mentor onboarding and elevate engineering standards through reviews and training.
• Coordinate cross-functional alignment for core OS features and platform improvements.
• Lead incident triage and root-cause analysis for reliability and cost efficiency.
