Job summary

Roku in California is seeking a Design Engineer to build and own the technical foundation powering AI-assisted design workflows across the UX team. This role serves as the platform owner under workflow leads, ensuring cohesive processes and secure data handling.

The Design Engineer will partner with UX and engineering, maintain hosting/deployment for prototypes, and help develop a shared AI tools library while contributing to design critique and real-data prototyping.

Qualifications

Experience bridging design and engineering, able to navigate both disciplines.
Proficiency with HTML/CSS/JS/TS and modern frameworks (React/Vue/Next.js).
Experience building or operating AI tooling and prototypes in product settings.

Responsibilities

Own platform AI-assisted design workflows end-to-end and be the UX-Engineering liaison.
Build integrations linking AI tooling to designer tooling and systems.
Maintain versioning, evaluation, and quality checks for AI-enabled processes.
Collaborate to establish an integrated AI-assisted design process across UX teams.
