Job summary

Thomson Reuters is strengthening its Cyber Defense capabilities with a Distinguished Engineer for AI Threat Defense. This senior individual contributor will shape AI attack-vector strategy and embed AI-augmented detection into the existing SOC/CIRT environment, collaborating with Architecture, Security Engineering, and AppSec.

You will lead hands-on technical efforts, mentor staff, and influence across multiple teams while operating without formal management authority to elevate security

Qualifications

• 12+ years of cybersecurity engineering at senior levels.
• Deep knowledge of AI-specific attack vectors and defensive architectures.
• Production experience governing AI systems, agentic infrastructure, MCP or equivalent integration patterns.
• Proven experience delivering AI-assisted detection and response within a mature SOC/CIRT.
• Ability to influence engineers and analysts without formal management authority.

Responsibilities

• Own AI threat defense strategy across AI attack vectors and defenses.
• Protect Thomson Reuters AI applications, features, and AI-enabled services within SOC/CIRT, working with Product Engineering and AppSec.
• Build AI-augmented detection content and analytics for AI-specific attack patterns.
• Integrate AI threat detection into SIEM, detection engineering, and SOC monitoring stack.
• Design automated workflows for AI-related detection, triage, investigation, and response.
• Mentor staff across SOC Operations, CIRT, and engineering without formal management authority.
