Job summary

WOOD Federal Solutions is seeking a Systems Engineer Level 5 to support mission-critical AI capabilities within a complex government environment. The role focuses on development, integration, evaluation, and operationalization of AI with human-in-the-loop and human-on-the-loop concepts.

Responsibilities include stakeholder engagement, requirements management, and leadership of cross-functional teams to deliver trustworthy, mission-relevant engineering solutions while navigating evolving

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or related technical discipline.
• 15+ years of systems engineering experience on complex programs (Level V).
• Experience leading multi-stakeholder systems engineering efforts across lifecycle phases.
• Strong written and verbal communication for executive briefings.

Responsibilities

• Apply systems engineering principles across the lifecycle from concept to deployment.
• Collaborate with government stakeholders and technical teams on requirements and mission needs.
• Lead cross-team coordination to satisfy requirements and manage risks and decisions.
• Supervise/coordinate engineers and analysts to support project objectives.
• Lead AI systems standards, integration, testing, and evaluation activities.
