Job summary

EY in the United States invites an AI Systems Engineer to own the stately backbone of EY’s AI-native platform, including data stores, memory tiers, and event streaming that hold and move state across cloud, on-prem, edge, client-managed, and air-gapped environments. You will ensure durability, consistency, and reliable access for agentic AI workloads.

The role blends data engineering with platform reliability, requiring expertise in PostgreSQL, Redis/Valkey, vector/graph stores, Kafka, NATS,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 8+ years operating production data infrastructure or streaming systems at scale.
• Hands-on PostgreSQL and caching (Redis/Valkey) with HA and backup/recovery.
• Experience with vector/graph DBs (Qdrant, Milvus, PGVector, Neo4j).
• Proficient in Kafka, NATS, Debezium, Flink and CloudEvents.
• Kubernetes with persistent volumes and storage like MinIO/OpenEBS.
• Ability to define data/schema contracts and ownership boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Own memory and data stores across environments: relational and durable state, vector and graph stores, object storage.
• Own event streaming and async messaging: Kafka, NATS, Debezium, Flink, CloudEvents.
• Ensure data durability, consistency, recoverability, and cross‑environment data movement.
• Build streaming and CDC pipelines with schema governance to avoid breaking changes.
• Make state multi-tenant and portable with isolation and performance guarantees.
• Provide data and lineage substrate for governance and observability tooling.
