Job summary

OpenAI is seeking experienced, curious professionals to join our User Operations team, helping customers adopt AI products and ensuring an exceptional experience at scale. You will troubleshoot high-impact issues, guide customers through complex deployments, and collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Operations to improve systems and automate workflows.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in User Operations, Engineering, Support Engineering or similar technical roles, ideally within high-growth tech startups or other fast-paced environments.
• Are comfortable using emerging technologies to script or engineer code (e.g., Python).
• Expert-level SaaS troubleshooting skills with the ability to rapidly understand new technologies.
• Polished enterprise communication with calmness in high-stakes live incident calls.
• Proven experience building strong relationships with customers and cross-functional partners.
• Exceptional critical thinker and problem solver with ability to clearly communicate complex issues.

Responsibilities

• Support public sector customers, including U.S. Government agencies, by troubleshooting complex issues and translating security needs into clear next steps.
• Becoming a trusted expert on OpenAI’s products and platform, serving as a go-to resource for complex technical issues.
• Serve as a critical escalation point and line of defense for complex technical issues, partnering with Engineering to troubleshoot and prevent recurring problems.
• Take learnings from resolving customer issues and contribute to scaling these solutions with Product and Go-To-Market teams.
• Drive operational excellence by identifying automation and AI-powered workflows to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Provide occasional holiday and weekend on-call support as needed.
