Atlassian seeks a Principal Forward Deployed Engineer to drive AI/ML-powered solutions for customers. You will work with product, engineering, and design teams to implement robust integrations and scalable AI workflows in enterprise environments.

You’ll lead deployment, risk assessment, and governance while mentoring engineers. A high-visibility role with impact across platforms and customers.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of backend software development experience.
• 5+ years delivering AI/ML solutions in production.
• Strong proficiency in Python/JavaScript and APIs/microservices.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and deployment of AI/ML-powered solutions for customers.
• Architect integrations using Python/JavaScript with focus on APIs and microservices.
• Drive data-driven solution development from complex datasets; inform product direction.
• Champion AI-augmented workflow automation in customer environments for value and efficiency.
• Oversee end-to-end deployment of AI solutions into production with monitoring and improvement.
• Address AI risk, data privacy, and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR).
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of innovation and learning.
• Communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Align technical solutions with business goals and measurable outcomes.
