Job summary

Bausch + Lomb in the United States is seeking a Principal AI Solutions Engineer to design, build, and deploy production-ready AI agents that reason, use tools, and automate end-to-end business tasks within the AI / Digital Center of Excellence.

You will partner with business leaders to frame problems, quantify value, and deliver measurable improvements in speed, cost, quality, or cycle time, while shipping secure, scalable AI-driven solutions and maintaining robust guardrails.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience delivering production solutions in software engineering, automation, or related technical roles.
• 1+ year hands-on experience building with LLM APIs and/or agent frameworks (not just experimentation).
• Experience operating in consulting-style or advisory roles, including problem structuring and executive communication.
• Ability to translate ambiguous workflows into scalable enterprise solutions.
• Strong communication skills to translate between business needs and technical implementation

Responsibilities

• Re-imagine enterprise work with an AI-first mindset: diagnose end-to-end processes for AI-driven transformation.
• Translate workflows into agent steps: decompose SOPs and controls for agent execution.
• Frame problems with business leaders and quantify impact for AI solution hypotheses.
• Build AI agents using Python and modern frameworks to analyze information and complete tasks end-to-end.
• Integrate with enterprise systems: APIs, data platforms, and approved data sources.
• Deploy securely to production using enterprise AI platforms with security and monitoring.
• Ensure Responsible AI with guardrails, observability, and fallback mechanisms.
• Operate in Agile cycles with backlogs, iterative releases, and cross-functional collaboration
