Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior AI Software Developer to lead design, development, and modernization of mission-critical microservices in a large Agile/SAFe environment. This role is on-site in Gaithersburg, MD or Egg Harbor Township, NJ, and offers the chance to impact nationwide air traffic management systems with AI-enabled technologies.

You will guide sprint planning, collaborate across engineering, product, DevSecOps, QA, and architecture teams, and apply AI-assisted development

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience developing enterprise software applications and distributed systems.
• Experience building microservices-based architectures using Java, Python, C++, or similar technologies within Linux environments.
• Strong understanding of APIs, distributed systems, Agile methodologies, and software development best practices.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).

Responsibilities

• Lead Agile sprint planning, technical execution, and team collaboration efforts to ensure successful delivery of software solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices-based applications using modern software engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, product owners, DevSecOps, QA, and architecture teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Develop and integrate APIs, databases, messaging systems, and event-driven services within distributed environments.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to enhance coding efficiency, software quality, debugging, testing, and system reliability.
