Symbiotic Services in Saint Paul, MN is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - AI to design and implement AI-powered software that enhances tax and accounting workflows through automation and intelligence. You will build multi-component pipelines, RAG architectures, and AI agents.

Collaborate with Product, UX, and Data Science, conduct POCs, ensure quality and compliance, and stay ahead of AI advances while shaping scalable, production-ready systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 1+ year AI/ML.
• Strong Python proficiency for web apps, distributed systems, and APIs.
• Hands-on with PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• Knowledge of vector databases, embeddings, and search-driven AI.
• Experience integrating AI models into production via APIs and data pipelines.
• Understanding of ML lifecycle and MLOps.
• AWS experience in design, deployment, and operations.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex AI systems, including multi-component pipelines, RAG architectures, and AI agents.
• Build and maintain robust testing frameworks, monitoring solutions, and ethical AI practices.
• Proactively identify risks and performance issues using data-driven insights.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, and Data/Science teams to align AI with business goals.
• Conduct POCs to assess emerging technologies and AI use cases.
• Evaluate existing systems and propose scalability improvements.
• Stay current with AI advancements and promote adoption of relevant tools.
