Job summary

Stord is building AI-powered features for a cloud-based logistics platform. We seek a Senior Software Engineer (AI) to design and implement end-to-end AI feature integration using Elixir services, collaborating with Data Scientists and ML Engineers.

You will build robust Elixir services that consume predictions from Modal.com and Vertex AI, integrate with edge inference where appropriate, and create fault-tolerant, scalable systems with real-time data pipelines.

Qualifications

• Expert Elixir/Phoenix (2+ years) building production Elixir systems.
• Strong TypeScript experience (2+ years) across frontend/backend.
• Distributed systems with fault tolerance and OTP patterns.
• API design and RESTful/event-driven architectures.
• PostgreSQL expertise; AlloyDB experience preferred.
• Experience with message queues (Kafka/RabbitMQ).
• Cloud platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure) hands-on.
• Performance optimization for high-throughput systems.

Responsibilities

• Build robust Elixir services that consume ML predictions from various platforms.
• Integrate products with edge-based inference where appropriate.
• Create fault-tolerant systems with intelligent fallbacks.
• Implement caching and optimization strategies for AI serving.
• Develop real-time data pipelines feeding ML models.
• Build Demand Planning and routing services using forecasting models.
• Create real-time anomaly detection and AI-powered recommendations.
• Design APIs for LLM integration with rate limiting and error handling.
• Design distributed systems that scale to millions of operations.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability.
• Mentor engineers on AI tooling and integration patterns.
