Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking an experienced Senior AI Software Developer to design and deliver AI features across ontology-based software applications for a U.S. Intelligence customer in Springfield, VA. The role requires Top Secret/SCI clearance and strong DevSecOps skills.

You will integrate data streams, migrate cloud platforms, and develop scalable AI-enabled solutions in an agile environment, using Python/Java/Scala, RESTful APIs, and containerized microservices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or 6 additional years of IT experience.
• Senior software development experience designing, developing, and maintaining secure, scalable applications.
• Strong programming experience with Python, Java, and Scala.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, Git workflows, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on Docker, microservices, Helm, and container environments.

Responsibilities

• Integrate multiple data streams into customer system.
• Migrate cloud platforms between existing and new platforms.
• Develop AI features for ontology-based software applications.
• Create sustainable software with efficient branching and maintained repos.
• Work within an agile scrum team and participate in daily standups, sprints, demos, and retrospectives.
• Translate product backlog into backlog requirements and user stories.
• Apply DevSecOps practices, including secure software development and automated security scanning.
• Develop and modify applications, services, interfaces, and IT systems to support analysts.
