Job summary

Meridian Systematics seeks a Senior Software Developer with deep AI expertise to design, build, and scale mission-focused applications. You will lead Generative AI workflows, data pipelines, and cloud-native DevSecOps architectures within an Agile Scrum environment.

In this role you will guide end-to-end development, mentor junior developers, and ensure secure, scalable delivery across AWS, OpenShift, and Kubernetes ecosystems. Strong Python/Java/Scala skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience (or 14+ years in IT in lieu of a degree).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
• Strong hands-on proficiency with Python, Java, and Scala.
• Direct experience building LLM-enabled workflows, RAG systems, RESTful APIs, and data transformations.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, AWS, Git workflows, CI/CD, and DevSecOps security scanning.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Developer with deep AI expertise to design, build, and scale mission-focused applications. In this role, you will lead the integration of Generative AI workflows, data pipelines, and cloud-native DevSecOps architectures within an Agile Scrum environment.

Key Responsibilities

• AI & Feature Engineering: Design and deploy Generative AI features (LLMs, RAG, ontology-based applications) and integrate multi-stream data pipelines.
• Cloud & Modern Infrastructure: Lead cloud platform migrations (AWS, OpenShift, Kubernetes), implement microservices with Docker/Helm, and ensure secure deployment across complex networks.
• Full-Lifecycle Development: Maintain robust CI/CD pipelines, practice DevSecOps (code hardening, vulnerability remediation, automated testing), and write clean, maintainable code using Python, Java, or Scala.
• Agile Execution & Leadership: Active participation in Scrum ceremonies, refine user stories, maintain repositories, and mentor junior developers.

• AI & Data: Direct experience building LLM-enabled workflows, RAG systems, RESTful APIs, and managing complex data transformations.
• DevOps & Cloud: Demonstrated experience with Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, AWS, Git workflows, CI/CD, and DevSecOps security scanning.
• Collaboration: Strong troubleshooting skills with a track record of cross-functional team collaboration and technical communication.

Desired

• Experience with graph-based data models, ontologies, and data visualization.
• Proven experience presenting technical metrics to stakeholders and mentoring junior engineers.
