Job summary

T. Rowe Price Labs is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for its AI Engineering team in New York City or Harbor Point, Baltimore, MD.

You will lead architecture, design, and delivery of complex production-grade AI agents, incubate new AI products, and partner with technology teams for scalable adoption across the firm. This hands-on leadership role requires deep software and AI expertise, mentoring, and shaping technical direction to enable reusable AI capabilities and enterprise platforms.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive software engineering experience.
• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, development, deployment, and evolution of complex production-grade AI agents and intelligent systems.
• Set technical direction for AI solutions, balancing models, orchestration, data, infrastructure, latency, cost, and security.
• Lead teams through ambiguous AI problems from experimentation to production adoption and scale.
• Define and evolve engineering standards for production AI including testing, observability, guardrails, and security.
• Mentor engineers and drive architectural quality and execution across teams.
