Job summary

AbbVie is building a hands-on AI security team. You will architect, build, and ship autonomous AI systems for security environments, define approaches, create proofs of concept, and harden them for production.

You will advance adversarial robustness, secure agent communications, and integrate AI capabilities with existing security tooling, while mentoring engineers and guiding technical direction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 9 years experience; Master's Degree with 8 years; PhD with 4 years.
• Substantial hands-on depth in cybersecurity, security engineering, or security research.
• Strong software engineering skills; Python required; additional languages a plus.
• Experience building AI agents and AI/ML-powered security tools at scale.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build AI agent systems for security operations—autonomous detection, investigation, response, threat hunting, vulnerability analysis, and risk assessment.
• Tackle novel high-complexity problems: adversarial robustness, secure agent-to-agent communication, and guardrails for autonomous decision-making.
• Develop frameworks, tooling, and patterns for secure, reliable agentic AI systems and use them.
• Conduct original research and publish technical guidance grounded in built systems.
