Job summary

Norstella is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our remote US team. You will design and deploy production-ready AI systems leveraging LLMs, build multi-agent orchestration workflows, and develop RAG pipelines to solve complex pharma intelligence problems.

Collaboration with product partners and scientists is essential. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in AI/ML, deep NLP/LLM expertise, and experience deploying scalable backend services with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing AI/ML applications in regulated industries.
• Graduate degree in CS, Engineering, Statistics or related field.
• Deep expertise in NLP, Deep Learning, Generative AI and LLMs.
• Experience with LLM orchestration frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex or similar).
• Strong knowledge of LLM APIs (OpenAI, Claude) and open-source models.
• Background in scalable backend environments (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/GCP).
• Experience moving AI from prototype to production-grade services with monitoring.
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy production-ready AI systems leveraging LLMs and ML techniques.
• Build multi-agent systems and orchestration workflows.
• Develop Retrieval-Augmented Generation pipelines with vector DB management.
• Implement MCP servers to connect models to data sources.
• Architect scalable APIs and microservices for AI features.
• Collaborate with product partners and scientists to apply AI to content.
• Conduct research to identify algorithms and deliver as microservices.
• Implement testing to manage hallucinations and ensure prompt stability.
• Contribute to the data science platform.
• Stay up-to-date and present findings to teams.
• All other duties as assigned.
