Job summary

Absci is seeking a Senior/Staff AI Scientist to advance and deploy protein design models for antibody drug design. You will apply broad expertise across AI Drug Discovery, including deep learning, protein design, and NLP, working to identify novel targets and generate candidate antibody therapeutics.

This is a remote position with the option to work onsite at our NYC office or Vancouver, WA headquarters if within commuting distance.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in ML, CS, computational biology, biophysics, or related field.
• 3+ years post-graduate experience in deep learning and AI for biology.
• Fluency in Python and PyTorch; strong background in model design and training.
• Strong publication record in high-impact journals and conferences.

Responsibilities

• Develop, adapt, and deploy deep learning models predicting intra- and intercellular signaling effects of therapeutic interventions.
• Design experiments to generate data to train and validate systems biology models.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams of disease biologists, structural biologists, computational biologists, and wet lab scientists.
• Develop in silico and in vitro validation approaches to iteratively improve design and evaluation methodologies.
• Communicate and present experimental results to diverse audiences to drive informed decision-making and program progression.
• Deliver and publish high-impact research advancing Absci’s position in AI-guided antibody discovery.
• Mentor other scientists and engineers; learn new technical skills to contribute.
