Job summary

Bitdeer is seeking a Staff AI Scheduling & Orchestration Engineer to lead workload placement for the NeoCloud platform. Design advanced batch scheduling across multi-node GPU fleets, addressing NVLink and InfiniBand topologies for large-scale AI training and inference.

You will work at the intersection of distributed systems and AI, implementing the scheduling fabric with Volcano, YuniKorn, Kueue, and DRA, and collaborating with GPU systems to maximize cluster utilization while mentoring

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of distributed systems engineering with deep Kubernetes scheduling experience.
• Experience with AI workload execution patterns and distributed training (PyTorch Distributed, Ray, MPI).
• Proven track record operating, debugging, and scaling scheduling stacks in HPC or large-scale production cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of GPU hardware architectures and scheduling challenges for distributed AI training/inference.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Go-based Operators).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement advanced batch scheduling architectures using Volcano or YuniKorn for multi-node gang scheduling.
• Develop and manage cluster-wide admission control and high-volume AI workload queueing (Kueue).
• Leverage Dynamic Resource Allocation (DRA) and scheduler plugins for complex accelerator requests.
• Architect topology-aware pod placement for NVLink and InfiniBand fabrics.
• Implement GPU sharing technologies (MIG, time-slicing) and multi-tenancy isolation to maximize utilization.
• Collaborate with GPU Systems and Storage teams to align scheduling with bare-metal hardware and IO patterns.
• Drive reliability and scalability of the scheduling stack, resolving contention and deadlock in large HPC environments.
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews to maintain architectural excellence.
