Job summary

Scale AI, Inc. seeks a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead a Public Sector program delivering AI-enabled planning and decision-support for major Department of War commands.

You will shape the technical delivery, extend Scale products, and guide a team of TPMs through ambiguous problems, interfacing with government stakeholders and end users. You'll own the end-to-end technical direction, drive risk mitigation, and partner with engineering, operations, and other public sector teams to build

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• 7+ years in stakeholder-facing roles or customer success.
• Experience mentoring program managers, engineers, or tech staff.
• Ownership of delivery for complex, multi-workstream programs with gov/enterprise stakeholders.
• Educational or professional background in CS, economics, statistics or engineering.
• Deep understanding of ML operations processes.
• Knowledge of software delivery pipelines and DevOps.
• Strong analytics-driven problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel at least 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Technical Program Managers owning key delivery areas.
• Own the technical shape of what we deliver and decide when bespoke builds are needed.
• Plan releases with engineering, surfacing risks and trade-offs.
• Serve as the senior technical voice to stakeholders and users.
• Drive innovation by solving undefined problems for public sector customers.
• Create solutions from scratch or improve existing ones with data and analytics.
• Transition AI/ML tech into working public sector products with ambiguous requirements.
• Partner with engineering, operations, and other public sector teams to build tailored AI systems.
• Set the technical direction for cross-functional teams to exceed AI/ML objectives.
• Manage long-term health of the customer base by preempting risks.
• Identify reusable program work and surface to Product, while maintaining delivery goals.
• Address engineering problems alongside product development teams.
