Job summary

Couchbase is seeking a Senior Product Manager, AI to own a defined capability area across Capella and Couchbase Enterprise. You will collaborate with engineering, sales, GTM, marketing, and the broader AI org to deliver capabilities addressing enterprise ICP needs.

This hands-on role writes PRFAQs, engages customers, and drives tradeoffs from inception to launch, at the center of AI-driven data infrastructure shifts. Remote-US, distributed team.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years in product management, with at least three on a technical platform.
• Technical fluency in modern AI infrastructure and developer tooling.
• Customer obsession and working-backwards rigor with clear tradeoffs.
• Engineering credibility and ability to own architecture decisions.
• Cross-functional trust with sales, GTM, marketing, and engineering.
• AI-driven PM practices with experience using AI in PM work.
• Frontier-model experience; familiarity with modern AI ecosystems.
• Strong written communication; PRFAQ/PRD as core artifacts.
• A proven shipping record from PRFAQ to launch and adoption.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end product execution within a defined AI capability area, including roadmap, PRFAQ/PRD, launch, adoption, and iteration.
• Validate with named enterprise customers and balance tradeoffs to meet ICP needs.
• Partner with engineering; own PRD as a living document and ensure quality and timing.
• Engage with design partners and customers to gather voice into roadmap decisions.
• Coordinate across Core Database, Capella, Analytics, Mobile and Edge, and AI Specialist teams.
• Equip sales and GTM with enablement materials and provide context for competitive positioning.
• Contribute to AI portfolio narrative with customer-facing content and documentation.
• Demonstrate AI-driven PM practices and mentor junior PMs as the team grows.
