Job summary

Roper Technologies seeks a Product Engineer to define and build AI products across its portfolio of market-leading vertical software businesses. This is a builder role combining technical depth with product judgment, colocated with customers to identify where AI adds value and capable of delivering it end-to-end.

You will move between portfolio companies in insurance, healthcare, energy, education, and other domains to craft shipped capabilities from concept to monetization, while shaping

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field: CS/engineering/math/physics.
• Deep technical grounding in AI/ML, including modern LLM-based and agentic systems.
• Prior experience shipping AI products at scale in production.
• Strong product sense and taste, with real opinions about what makes software good to use.
• Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns.
• Demonstrated ability to prototype a working solution quickly and independently.
• Ability to learn an unfamiliar business domain rapidly and form a clear view on what to build.
• Willingness to work directly with customers and portfolio company teams.
• Strong ownership mindset, resilience to failed experiments, and high internal drive.
• Ability to operate independently in an ambiguous environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with portfolio leadership to shape AI product concepts, roadmaps, and theses.
• Learn new business domains quickly and identify where AI adds value.
• Develop defensible viewpoints on what to build and why now.
• Feasibility and willingness to pay evaluation against competitors.
• Engage with customers to ground decisions in real workflows.
• Build prototypes and run experiments to establish feasibility.
• Design evaluations to distinguish demos from ship-ready products.
• Move quickly from concept to functioning system with AI-assisted development.
• Kill ideas when evidence does not support them.
• Develop shared technology that scales across multiple businesses.
• Decide central vs local capabilities and drive adoption of shared platforms.
• Codify best practices into reusable frameworks and playbooks.
• Ship AI products that drive adoption, monetization, and customer impact.
• Define metrics for adoption, retention, expansion, and outcomes.
• Close the loop from production usage back to the roadmap.
