OpenGov, Inc. in Boston, MA is seeking a Senior Product Engineer to drive growth of OG Assist, our flagship AI assistant for government customers.

This hands-on role requires shipping production code, owning the end-to-end outcomes from discovery to deployment, and leading by example in AI-native product development. You will design features, implement scalable architectures, review and write code, and collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to deliver measurable impact for public

Qualifications

• 6–9 years of experience spanning product ownership and hands-on software engineering in SaaS.
• Proven ability to ship production code end to end from design to deployment.
• Proficiency with modern web tech: TypeScript and React.
• Experience with or on top of LLMs or AI agents in production is a strong plus.
• Ability to own projects end to end and provide technical direction.
• Strategic mindset analyzing competitive landscape and customer behavior.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to influence through reasoned arguments.
• Comfortable defining UX flows and implementing them within a design system.

Responsibilities

• Refine and communicate the product vision for OG Assist based on customer research and business goals.
• Conduct and synthesize customer discovery to guide what to build and what to cut.
• Own the product roadmap and explain decisions publicly.
• Design and build features end to end, writing production code and shipping to customers.
• Define UX flows and patterns within the design system and implement them.
