OpenGov in Boston, MA is seeking a Product Engineer II to own a product area with cross-functional exposure, guiding discovery, roadmap input, and delivery under leadership while leveraging AI-native tooling to drive outcomes for customers.

You will align product decisions with customer needs, define user experience flows, and partner with engineering to unblock progress, delivering measurable business impact.

Qualifications

• Experience conducting customer or stakeholder interviews and translating technical requirements into actionable specs.
• Ability to explain tradeoffs clearly, provide project updates, and incorporate feedback at milestones.
• Track record of shipping reliably in cross-functional projects.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows is a plus.
• Understanding of design systems and component-based architecture beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Define and communicate the product vision for your area grounded in customer research and business goals.
• Own the product roadmap and revise it as new facts warrant.
• Define user experience flows within the design system and elevate when new patterns are needed.
• Write intent documents for AI tooling and review AI-generated specs for accuracy.
• Partner with engineering to unblock builds and resolve ambiguity in real time.
• Track adoption, usage, and business outcomes to drive next iterations.
• Represent the product in customer conversations and cross-functional reviews.
• Identify gaps in AI harnesses and surface as platform investment requests.
