Job summary

Vanguard’s Advice team seeks a Senior AI Technical Lead to design, develop, and deploy advanced AI-enabled applications powering client advice experiences. You will work with LLMs, agent frameworks, RAG, and cloud-native architectures, leading technical design reviews and mentoring engineers.

This hybrid role emphasizes hands-on delivery and cross-team collaboration in a dynamic, security-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• Eight+ years of software or platform engineering experience.
• Experience building enterprise-scale AI-powered applications.
• Proficient in Node.js, TypeScript, Python, and cloud-native development (AWS).
• Experience with generative AI, LLMs, and RAG architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support scalable AI-driven applications and platforms.
• Architect and integrate AWS Bedrock, LLMs, and agent frameworks.
• Evaluate approaches and guide system design and build-versus-buy choices.
• Develop, test, deploy, and monitor production-ready solutions.
• Lead design reviews, code reviews, and architecture discussions.
• Troubleshoot issues across dev to production and provide support.
• Promote software engineering best practices and AI governance.
• Mentor engineers and foster continuous learning.
• Collaborate with product, design, data, and engineering stakeholders.
• Stay current with emerging AI tech and industry trends.
• Ensure compliance with IT and security policies.
• Contribute to special initiatives as assigned.
