Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior AI Platform Engineer to transform enterprise workflows end-to-end. You will design secure, reusable AI solutions and partner with engineering, product, and business teams to set platform standards and governance.

You will build backend services in Python/TypeScript, run cloud-native services on GCP, migrate legacy processes, and implement strong security controls. This role demands leadership in HITL, testing, and scalable AI patterns.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, platform architecture, or enterprise workflow automation.
• Proven experience leading or contributing to GCP-based transformations and adoption of AI-enabled solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience designing and deploying AI agents or bot-driven workflows with Vertex AI, Gemini, or external LLMs.

Responsibilities

• Write clean, scalable backend services and integrations using Python and/or JavaScript frameworks.
• Build and operate cloud-native, event-driven services on GCP using Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, and API Gateway.
• Code data pipelines and migrate legacy enterprise workflows into native GCP environments.
• Implement security in integrations using GCP IAM, OAuth2, service accounts, and access controls.
• Develop automated tests, CI/CD pipelines, and release environments.
• Architect and deploy AI agents and bot-driven workflows integrated with Vertex AI and external LLMs.
• Design HITL validation nodes and robust production prompts with guardrails.
• Ensure telemetry, logging, and evaluation frameworks monitor performance and latency.
• Produce technical designs translating ambiguous requests into actionable pathways.
• Create reusable architecture patterns and templates for scale across teams.
• Deliver comprehensive documentation, API specs, and runbooks.
